This hydraulic pump demonstrator incorporates a clear plastic reservoir, liquid filled vacuum and pressure gauges, flow meter and loading valve. The pump is a variable volume, pressure compensated vane type pump driven by a 1.5 hp electric motor. Also installed is an amp meter to monitor motor current.
This pump demonstrator is used to illustrate features of a properly
designed hydraulic reservoir. The pump inlet piping includes a clear
plastic section of pipe, a restricting valve and an air bleed valve;
these devices are used to demonstrate the audio and visual effects of
pump cavitations. The amp meter is used to demonstrate the principle of
pressure compensated pump control.
